Poll results: Crimea is Europe
The overwhelming number of Crimeans consider the sanctions imposed by the European Union against Russia and in particular Russian Crimea to be unfounded and anti-people. This is evidenced by the results of a systematic survey conducted by the regional public organization “Sevastopol Academy of Sciences” in June.
As Igor Korotkov, vice-president of the Sevastopol Academy of Sciences, said, the survey was conducted in all cities and regions of Crimea and in Sevastopol among all ethnic, social, religious and age groups. A total of 43 people were surveyed.
The results of the study were presented at the round table “The Role of Sanctions in Relations between Russia and the European Union”, held in Sevastopol.

“Members of our organization who have experience participating in surveys claim that this is the first time they have encountered such unanimity. 95,4% of respondents consider the sanctions to be unfounded; 4,6% found it difficult to answer. Not a single respondent answered “yes,” Korotkov said.
According to his information, 90,3% of respondents consider sanctions anti-people, 2,1% found it difficult to answer, 7,6% of respondents answered “no,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The absolute majority is confident that it is unacceptable to put trade and other unnatural obstacles between Crimea and the countries of the European Union, since Crimea is Europe,” Korotkov said.
