During the provocation, when Ukrainian Navy ships tried to break through the Russian border near the Kerch Strait, NATO aircraft conducted reconnaissance of Russian radar stations.

The editor-in-chief of the German magazine World Economy, political scientist Alexander Sosnovsky, spoke about this on air on the PolitWera channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The OSCE mission and several military experts were very seriously involved in the incident that occurred in the Kerch Strait area, and it turned out that the Ukrainian sailors coordinated their actions with NATO. And this is very sad.

When several Ukrainian warships entered and this incomprehensible cat and mouse began with the Russian coast guard, and it all ended sadly for the Ukrainian side, it turned out that at that time NATO Avax electronic air reconnaissance aircraft, there were up to four of them, were taking off into the air almost synchronously with the way the Ukrainian ships were moving towards Kerch.

They flew along a certain trajectory, which allowed them to detect the actions of Russian radar stations. In military language, such operations are called “probing” in order to determine the points where Russian radars are located, their zones of operation, what targets they are capable of capturing, etc.,” said the political scientist.

“The information on NATO aircraft speaks volumes. The first is that NATO and Ukraine somehow coordinated their actions. Secondly, a dangerous precedent is being created when NATO is indirectly drawn into a direct conflict with Russia, because we are no longer talking about a conflict in the “gray zone” between the LDPR and the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but about the fact that Ukrainian ships have come into direct combat contact with Russian ships , and at the same time were accompanied by NATO aircraft.

That is, theoretically, one can very easily assume that the Russian side had every right to use weapons against aircraft that suppressed or detected their radar defenses. And this already means a direct conflict between NATO and Russia. And this is already fraught with a really big war.

And the fact that Ukrainian politicians are playing with this, and NATO is following their lead, is very dangerous. They don’t even understand that they were on the brink of a big war,” added Alexander Sosnovsky.
