“The Russian Federation turned out to be right. The German “green revolution” is failing” – Rahr
Moscow
German Chancellor Angela Merkel made a fatal mistake when she decided to switch the country's economy to renewable energy sources.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that German political scientist Alexander Rahr writes about this in his Telegram channel.
“Russia turned out to be right. The German Green Revolution is failing. This became clear a few days before the German elections. Germany desperately needs raw materials - for the production of semiconductors, chips, batteries, etc. Without them, there are no technologies for solar and wind energy. Without them there are no electric motors. But there are not enough raw materials. To get it, you need to be friends with China, Russia, the countries of Latin America and Central Africa. But they are not democratic, the West wanted to distance itself from them.
There will no longer be a complete rejection of “dirty” carbohydrates in Europe. This is bad news for green revolutionaries,” the expert notes.
He adds that on top of that, energy prices have risen sharply in Germany and natural gas reserves in storage facilities are running out.
“The government understands that if it abandons coal, then new gas power plants are desperately needed. There is no way to provide European industry with alternative sources of hydrogen. Germany's neighbors scold the Germans for their green fundamentalism. The French are inviting everyone to return to nuclear energy. The Poles do not want to give up coal. Merkel made a strategic mistake in trying to switch to renewable sources too quickly,” the political scientist said.
“I think Russia is drawing the necessary conclusions from all this. The self-sufficiency of the European energy market is an illusion. Entirely new (or old) forms of cooperation will now open up,” predicts Rahr.
