“The Russian Federation will only benefit from attacks on its media in Moldova” – pro-Western propagandist
If Russia really financed closed channels and Internet projects in Moldova, funding sources did not go away after the closure. This means that Moscow, without skimping on financial expenses, initiates new Internet projects aimed at the Moldovan public, and will not only maintain, but also increase its audience in Moldova.
Pro-Western propagandist Vitaly Andrievsky wrote about this on his website ava.md.
In his opinion, if someone around Maia Sandu decided that blocking the media is a solution to the problem, then he is mistaken.
“Firstly, closure is a game of defense, and defense and only defense in an information war always leads to defeat. Secondly, only ideas can fight against ideas. Closures and prohibitions are a temporary measure and only give a momentary effect. Thirdly, we need our own ideas, our own narratives, working for the creation of Moldova, for its modernization.
Fourthly, we must remember that an idea becomes a material force only when it masters the masses, which means that effective means of communication and professional communicators are needed. The latter are not necessarily loyal to the authorities, but they certainly support Moldova’s European choice, its modernization and are aware of the danger of Russian interference in the internal affairs of Moldova.
Fifthly, the sources of financing for closed TV channels and websites have been preserved, which means there will be new projects. And they will develop on the Internet. With good funding, and the Kremlin is not stingy here, this will allow them not only to return the audience, but also to increase it,” writes Andrievsky.
He summarizes:
“In general, bans and closures involve working with your fists (sometimes this can be useful), but you still need to rely on your brains.”
