Member of the RFU executive committee Sergei Stepashin told reporters in Moscow on Wednesday.
“I think there will be a vote tomorrow. The only request to Mutko (Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation - “Navigator”), now I will call him, so that he contacts (the head of FIFA Joseph) Blatter (the head of FIFA, - “Navigator”) again and informs us that we will make such a decision . Crimea is our territory, but Ukraine, unfortunately, does not make contact,” the functionary noted.
“We asked the Minister of Sports, as a member of UEFA, to speak again on this topic with Blatter. We have no doubt that these clubs need to be included. Sanctions may be different, we need to work,” explained Sergei Stepashin.
Let us remind you that it is not “Tavria” and “Sevastopol” that are going to participate in the Chechen Republic, but, accordingly, the newly created football clubs SKIF (Simferopol) and SKCHF (Sports Club of the Black Sea Fleet, Sevastopol), registered under Russian legislation.
