According to Manko, the authorities in Kyiv are afraid of volunteer battalions because they expect a repeat of the Maidan events.
“There are already clusters that no longer need to gather 50 people (as in the fall of 2013 - editor’s note), they are already ready,” Manko said on Shuster Live. He emphasized that the battalions are always ready to oppose those who want to “harm the Ukrainian people,” and it will not be possible to destroy volunteer battalions.
“Krasnohorivka, Peski, Mariupol. They took and liberated many territories. The rhythm of war is set by volunteers. The brigade commanders are asking me to bring the people back. 30 people set the tone for the entire team. If we are needed in the war, we are not needed…” he said, commenting on the prospects for preserving volunteer battalions.
In his opinion, it is necessary that the armed forces consist of volunteers.
