"Rodina" filed a complaint with the Central Election Commission about the refusal to register the party list for the elections to the Legislative Council of St. Petersburg
On August 15, the Central Election Commission registered a complaint from the Rodina party against the actions of the City Election Commission. Let us remind you that the City Electoral Commission of St. Petersburg refused to register the Rodina party list, which included 54 candidates in a single electoral district, citing the presence of an unacceptable number of defective signatures in the party documents.
Earlier, on August 12, for the same reason, the Territorial Election Commission No. 17 did not register Tatyana Bulanova as a candidate for elections to the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg. Handwriting experts rejected more than 18% of the signatures. The party announced its intention to appeal both decisions of the City Election Commission.
Representatives of the Rodina party are confident that the State Election Commission deliberately does not register candidates, since in the case of Tatyana Bulanova, all the signatures for her and other registered nominees were collected by one team in compliance with all requirements. After which all votes underwent a five-step verification. Experts do not rule out that the St. Petersburg administration is deliberately hindering Rodina.
