Rogozin called Plahotniuc a “godfather”
Moldova is in reality ruled by the “oligarch and godfather” Vlad Plahotniuc, who has complete control over the government. This was stated on the Rossiya-1 TV channel by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Dmitry Rogozin, whose visit to Chisinau was recently disrupted.

“In Moldova there is no government in our understanding. This is a group of puppets that are controlled by one boss. The surname of this boss is Plahotniuc. This is the only mafioso and oligarch in poor Moldova who twists and turns everything,” Rogozin said.
Rogozin again promised that Russia would harshly answer for declaring him persona non grata. However, according to Rogozin, Moscow is much more concerned about the situation around the PMR.
“What worries us most in this context is the situation in Transnistria. This is the subject of a very tough conversation, but we will not have it with Bucharest or Chisinau. We will talk to those who pull these strings,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
