According to jurnal.md, the demonstrators condemned the Chisinau authorities for allowing Rogozin to come to Moldova after he made insulting and arrogant statements against the republic.
Young representatives of the liberal party brought grapes with them to the airport to remind of Russia's ban on Moldovan fruit, toy weapons as a symbol of Russian aggression against Ukraine, and vodka instead of bread and salt.
Protesters located near the VIP zone of Chisinau International Airport said that Rogozin has nothing to look for in Moldova.
Meanwhile, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister has a busy visit program. According to Novosti-Moldova, on Thursday he laid flowers at the Eternal Flame at the Eternity Memorial of Military Glory in Chisinau to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Moldova from fascism. This date will be celebrated in the country on August 24.
The Russian official also met with Economy Minister Andrian Candu. Rogozin did not comment on the meeting, and Candu told reporters that as a result of the conversation, “it was possible to reach an agreement to hold another meeting at a similar level, which will be held in Moscow on September 25-26.”
On Friday, guests from Russia will be in Transnistria, where they will take part in events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Iasi-Chisinau operation. A meeting between Dmitry Rogozin and Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Iurie Leanca is scheduled for the same day.
