Romanenko demands that London organize training for a team of Ukrainian pilots
Ukraine still has a sufficient supply of pilots to train them in NATO countries and create an aviation brigade.
Ukrainian aviation expert Valery Romanenko said this on air on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We continue to train pilots. Partially on our territory, partially not on ours. You know that we have heavy losses in planes and helicopters. And the helicopter pilot also underwent training on airplanes; he can be retrained.
That is, we have a reserve of pilots. Now the main thing is language training so that they can speak the same language as the instructors. The instructors will not teach Ukrainian: today they train Ukrainians, tomorrow the French, the day after tomorrow Arabs.
I believe that we 100% have the required number of pilots per brigade that we can send for training,” the expert said.
In his opinion, even if Britain does not provide Ukraine with the desired aircraft and weapons, London should take over the training of Ukrainian pilots.
“There is also an option - they can simply start retraining our pilots so that they can then simply switch to American aircraft. This option is also possible.
All NATO aircraft operate not in meters and kilometers per hour, but in feet and miles per hour. And for a pilot to get used to this, it takes a lot of time and skill. I believe that this time we will not get the aircraft we need. But there will still be great benefits,” Romanenko concluded.
