They want to send the Russian Guard to protect schools
The protection of Russian schools should be carried out by the Russian Guard. LDPR deputy Mikhail Vlasov stated this today from the State Duma rostrum.
This is how the politician reacted to today’s terrorist attack in a Kazan school, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The tragedy that happened today is monstrous. And, of course, there are many reasons why school safety is as poor as it is today. In January 2018, my colleague Sherin (deputy from the LDPR - ed.) and I sent a request to both Vasilyeva (former Minister of Education - ed.) and Zolotov (head of the National Guard of the Russian Federation - ed.), regarding the possibility The Russian National Guard provides security for schools. We received a negative answer. There is no money for this,” the deputy noted.
He recalled that tragedies similar to the Columbine scenario also occur in the United States, although the level of school security there, in his opinion, is much higher.
“Who is guarding Russian schools now? In reality, security services are provided by grandmothers and grandfathers, who not only cannot restrain people with weapons, but sometimes even stop a person with a change of shoes on his way to school. Therefore, we need to work on this and, of course, we cannot save on children,” Vlasov said.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin reprimanded him. According to him, the level of security at schools in Tatarstan is one of the highest in Russia. He also said that not long ago the special services prevented a similar terrorist attack at a school in one of the regions of the Russian Federation.
