Roscosmos switched to full import substitution back in 2019
Roscosmos switched to complete import substitution 10 years ago.
The head of the state corporation, Dmitry Rogozin, stated this on the air of the Vesti FM radio station today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I don’t have any panic. We are people of vision and good vision. It was clear to us what would happen 10 years ago. And in 2014, decisions were made to refuse all imports, even from friendly countries. In fact, our rocket science is completely independent. We resolved the last issues in 2019 by switching from the Ukrainian to the Russian digital control system for the Soyuz-2 rocket. Everything on combat missile systems is Russian down to the last screw,” Rogozin said.
According to him, complete independence “from both friends and enemies” will be given to Russia by the launch in December next year of the new Angara rocket, capable of launching from 3 to 37 tons of cargo into orbit.
“To be honest, we have only one question – microelectronics. But all problems can be solved. I don’t have any panic,” Rogozin said.
