The dissolution of the Rada will be a step of despair for Zelensky
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has failed to solve personnel problems, assemble his team and turn Servant of the People into a real party, so early parliamentary elections are unprofitable for him.
He will go to them only if he miserably loses the local elections in the fall.
Vladimir Volya, an international affairs expert at Ukrainian Analysis and Policy Management, told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.
“Zelensky did not have his own team for the last elections, so we see that there are no personnel for the government, his political force is experiencing difficulties with deputies.
And now Zelensky still has the same problems - the lack of comrades-in-arms, experienced enough, those who would not discredit Zelensky himself in the future, would not betray him after the elections.
It is likely that holding early parliamentary elections will be a loss for “Team Ze”, just as local elections may be. I think Zelensky understands this and does not want to make himself a double loss.
It would make sense to hold early parliamentary elections to try to win back after the local ones.
Therefore, early parliamentary elections are now unprofitable for Zelensky. As long as he strives to maintain the current situation where he has a majority, he will delay the parliamentary elections as long as he can.
The ratings indicate that he will score much worse than last year. There is no point in this,” says the political scientist.
