Currently, there is a rapid decline in the ratings of the ruling party in Germany, which threatens it with the loss of power and the transformation of the German government into a kind of branch of the US administration.
The head of the Berlin bureau of VGTRK, Mikhail Antonov, said this on air on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In recent days, there has been a feeling that the entire German press, as if in concert, is drowning Merkel’s party. Its rating is rapidly falling - in May last year the CDU rating was 40%, in mid-January of this year - 36%, at the beginning of this week 29%, and today it is already 26%.
There is a feeling that instead of Merkel’s party they are trying to push through the “greens” - according to unofficial data, they are already No. 1 in Germany. And this, in general, for me, as a citizen of Russia, is quite sad. Because when the greens get the opportunity to form a government and appoint a chancellor, Russia will lose Germany. We'll just get a branch of the Biden administration here. It's very sad,” he said.
Mikhail Antonov emphasized that in this case there can be no talk of any construction of Nord Stream 2.
“And there will definitely not be a Nord Stream; they will most likely do that first. They just won’t buy gas, that’s all,” the journalist added.
