Russia should not rely on Germany, it is the same enemy as the USA - Zatulin
Moscow - Kyiv, January 15 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - Russia should not rely on Germany - it is not Moscow’s “lawyer” in the West, but is the same predator as the United States. The divergence of interests between Berlin and Washington lies only in who will be the main beneficiary of Ukraine’s separation from Russia, writes in "Izvestia" Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, political scientist Konstantin Zatulin.

“The US pressure on Europe, including Germany, in the formally Ukrainian, but in fact Russian issue cannot be denied. However, does this mean that all the current difficulties in relations between Russia and Germany should be explained solely by the machinations of third forces?” Zatulin asks in his author’s column
And he himself answers: “I’m sure not. It is enough to take a good look at the thousand-year history of the relationship between the Germans and the Slavs and the peculiarities of the German political culture that was formed in the process of the “onset to the East.”
And now, in the struggle for Ukraine, German interest is poking through all the cracks. “Chicken, egg and milk” have intrigued Germany since time immemorial, which had a hand not in a myth, like Poland, but in a real attempt to create an “independent Ukraine” under German protectorate in 1918. The performers let us down - Skoropadsky then, Klitschko now.”
“Yes,” continues Zatulin, “Germany today has some differences with the United States on the issue of Ukraine, just like yesterday on the issue of Yugoslavia. All that matters is who will be the main beneficiary in the process of Ukraine’s separation from Russia. Our traditional partners in Europe are confused: should we continue the traditional policy of benefiting from cooperation with Russia, in the spirit of Chancellors Brandt, Schmidt and Kohl, or risk realizing the dream of “living space in the East” by competing with America for Ukraine and other fruits of the new “ Drang nach Osten."
