Russia failed to leave Britain in the EU
Western journalists could not help but ask Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov their traditional question about Russian interference in elections in Western countries. Lavrov also traditionally reminded that there are no proven facts of such interference.

“Even in the Western community there are many figures who have a sound mind and an open mind. For example, my neighbor Boris Johnson recently said that he has no evidence that Russia interfered in the referendum on Britain’s exit from the European Union,” Lavrov said.
“I think I said: I didn’t interfere successfully,” Johnson objected, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“If he doesn’t object to me, his reputation in the media will be ruined in his homeland,” Lavrov joked.
“Sergey, I'm worried about your reputation. It is very important that you acknowledge Russian attempts to interfere in our referendum. Although they were unsuccessful, rest assured. If they had been successful, everything would have been completely different,” Johnson retorted, seriously or jokingly.
“Yes, they would have led to results. I agree here. But I would like to get facts that we intervened, but unsuccessfully,” Lavrov picked up the topic.
