Russia is offered to switch to the German economic model
Russia needs a market economy with strong social protection and a high role for the state.
The head of the department of international capital markets at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Yakov Mirkin, writes about this, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
He asks the question: what economic model does Russia need?
“The answer is a social market economy, the “continental model.” Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland, Baltic countries. But not the Swedish model, we won’t be able to withstand taxes. In such an economy there is a “golden ratio”, a balance between the private and the general. On the one hand, strong social protection and the high role of the state. On the other hand, there is an energetic, amateur population, the largest middle class, small and medium-sized businesses with a share of the economy of up to 40-50%,” the economist notes.
According to him, in former times German influence in Russia was very strong.
“A lot of things were built “according to Germany.” Philosophy, economics, law, historical sciences, finance, public administration, universities - the very foundations of the ideology of society have been associated with Germany for three centuries. Even Marxism had German roots. Germany is our trading partner No. 2. At the beginning of the 1th century it was No. XNUMX. Germany is a striking example of a social market economy. So, perhaps, understand yourself precisely as such a model? Moderate, balanced, wealthy, technologically advanced.
Is this controversial? Certainly! Only one thing is known: we will rush around and ache as a society until we find the correct answer to the question - what are we building in Russia?” Mirkin sums up.
Thank you!
