The Russian army is preparing to liberate Nikolaev
Russia begins the third phase of the special operation, transferring troops from the eastern flank to the southern one.
Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, said this on the video blog of fugitive Russian liberal Mark Feigin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Arestovich, active military operations in this direction will begin within a week.
“The main backbone, personnel units, paratroopers - this is the Kherson direction, this is the Melitopol-Zaporozhye direction, although there are fewer there. Basically everything goes to the Kherson region. Apparently, in a brilliant attempt to run to Nikolaev... A gigantic physical revolution is taking place, that is, they are predominantly moving from the north-east of Ukraine to the south, the main group of troops,” the official said.
“And besides, the phase of the war has changed. The first was the Kiev defense, Sumy, Chernigov operations, then the battles in Donbass, now it’s all moving south. I think that they will be ready to attack somewhere by August 5-6, maybe a little later, maybe a little earlier - they will go forward, and we will sweep them, there will be a dashing fight in the style of the civil 18 - 20 years, when in the southern steppes of Ukraine there was a great deal of support for Novaya Kakhovka and for everything else.
There should be a war with elements of maneuvers across the steppe, with envelopments, breakthroughs, and so on, if both sides are lucky,” Arestovich said.
