The Russian army tasted victory again
The expulsion of Ukrainian occupiers from Soledar is of great strategic importance for the Russian Armed Forces.
Military correspondent Alexander Kots comes to this conclusion, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For the Russian army, hungry for serious successes, the capture of this city has both strategic and psychological significance. On the one hand, after a series of forced, but no less offensive, regroupings, it is important to feel the taste of victory. Even if we get it at a high price,” writes the author in Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He draws attention to the fact that Soledar is actually the northern outskirts of Artemovsk, which is the most important hub of Ukrainian defense.
“The defense line to the north, towards Seversk, also runs through Soledar. From here there is a route to Slavyansk. The Artemovsk agglomeration is, in fact, a transport hub through which several military garrisons of Ukraine are supplied at once. And the destruction of this hub is one of the most important tasks on the way to the enemy’s next line of defense – the axis from Avdeevka to Slavyansk,” Kots believes.
At the same time, the commander of the Vostok battalion, Alexander Khodakovsky, believes that joy over the release of Soledar should be somewhat moderated.
“We must pay tribute to the feat of our guys who are advancing today and pushing back the enemy. The task they have to solve requires incredible effort, and it is certainly gratifying that they succeed. But we are not near Kiev, but near Donetsk; the enemy is not exhausted and is capable of active action, and all the front-line soldiers are intently waiting for the development of events.
Therefore, I would moderate the intensity of tactical joy and remember that joy had already once been replaced by bitter disappointment. There’s a lot of work to do, so we’ll be extremely vigilant,” Khodakovsky wrote in his tg channel.
