Russian air bases are located not far from the Ukrainian state border, including those opposite the Sumy region. The Russian Armed Forces have resumed air patrols near the region, the National Security and Defense Council notes.

The situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Donbass region remains tense, but outside the ATO zone it is under control. Yesterday, November 20, opposite the Sumy border detachment site, Russian border guards flew on a Mi-8 military helicopter, the department said.

The National Security and Defense Council emphasized that there was no violation of Ukrainian airspace.

As PolitNavigator reported, earlier in May, a Russian helicopter advanced 2,5 km into the Sumy region.
