Russian aviation opens the way for an attack on the ISIS capital
Russia's military presence in Syria is explained by the need to strike terrorists, regardless of the greater or lesser number of heads they cut off.

This opinion was expressed in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets by Semyon Bagdasarov, director of the Center for the Study of the Middle East and Central Asia:
“Our aircraft struck control centers and fuel and lubricants warehouses,” the expert notes. – But as for their affiliation with some organization - what is now being argued about in the West: this is supposedly not ISIS, but Jibhat al-Nusra - so, excuse me, I will say in Russian: horseradish is not sweeter than radishes. Maybe someone there forgot that Jibhat al-Nusra is al-Qaeda? The one that destroyed the Twin Towers. And now it turns out that Jibhat al-Nusra is a good organization?”
According to Bagdasarov, Russian military aircraft carried out strikes along the Damascus-Homs highway, which was cut some time ago by Jibhat al-Nusra, where just after these strikes the Syrian army began its offensive.
“We entered Syria to strike terrorists,” the expert says. – . But what they are called - “Jibhat al-Nusra” or ISIS - is not the point. These are the Americans trying to introduce a new trend. Remember, there was this Petraeus, a very smart CIA director, who got burned because of a woman. So he said: why do we need some kind of moderate opposition in Syria? After all, Jibhat al-Nusra is more moderate than ISIS. How did he determine this - God knows, perhaps by the number of heads they cut off? And in this regard, I am very alarmed that a month ago the Al-Jazeera TV channel began to present the leader of Jibhat al-Nusra as a moderate, good leader who dreams of a united Syria.”
The publication’s interlocutor also points out that airstrikes by the Russian Air Force are carried out in the direction where the Syrian army should later go on the offensive.
“Next, I think it would be promising to provide air cover for the Syrian army in its offensive and liberation of Palmyra first, after which a direct road to Ar-Raqqa, the capital of the Islamic State in Syria, opens,” Bagdasarov emphasizes. “We, in cooperation with the Syrian army and units of the Syrian Kurdish self-defense units, must provide them with air support and take Ar-Raqqa. This will be our biggest victory, and at the same time a serious slap in the face to the Americans.”
