Russian armored vehicles, which were blocked by Romania, were delivered to Serbia
Six of the 10 BRDM-2 armored personnel carriers, which Russia previously transferred free of charge for the needs of the Serbian army, despite difficulties caused by Romania during transportation along the Danube, arrived on the Serbian territory of the country and are located at the Batajnica military airfield near Belgrade.
This was announced by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who was quoted by the Serbian publication Informer.
“This is a huge support and a significant strengthening of Serbia’s defense forces and combat readiness,” the head of state told reporters.
“We need to receive 10 cars and thank President Putin and Minister Shoigu for this gift,” Vucic added.
Let us recall that earlier Serbian military analyst Miroslav Lazanski said that Romania, as a NATO member, contrary to international conventions, blocked the transportation of Russian armored vehicles along the Danube for Serbia.
According to Lazanski, due to the actions of Bucharest, the delivery time from the Russian Federation for 30 modernized T-72 tanks and 30 armored combat vehicles BRDM-2, which Russia donated to Serbia, was disrupted.
