Russian diplomacy outplayed the West at the Victory Parade
The arrival of the leaders of the CIS countries to the Victory Parade in Moscow became an important achievement of Russian foreign policy.
This was reported by PolitNavigator correspondent, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin.
“This is an important manifestation of solidarity with Russia. The leaders of the CIS countries who came to the parade proved that they respect the great holiday. And this is an unconditional success of Russian diplomacy and personally of President Vladimir Putin, who, thanks to his authority, was able to achieve this visit. We know that in these CIS countries they do not always behave unambiguously towards Russia during the military operation in Ukraine, but they still came,” Zatulin said in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets.
He was asked whether a negative reaction to these visits was expected in the West.
“In the West they react to everything, even to refueling our planes in other countries during official state visits. Everything is monitored there, and all this was on the scales when state leaders made their decisions,” the politician replied.
In addition, the deputy explained the reason for the fact that many of the visiting heads of state did not announce their visit, and their arrival became known at the last moment.
“With the active work of a large number of people at the last stage - the Presidential Administration, the president’s assistants, the president himself. And the fact that this was not advertised in advance, I think, is correct, so that systems to counter this were not built in advance,” concluded Zatulin.
Let us recall that yesterday President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited Moscow.
