If the Ukrainian Armed Forces risk attacking Russia with missiles, then after the Russian response, Ukraine will lose its statehood.
Military expert of the Institute of CIS Countries Vladimir Evseev stated this in an interview with Moskovsky Komsomolets, assessing the latest threats of the commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike Sevastopol with missiles "Neptune".
“The Neptune anti-ship missile is subsonic, unlike the supersonic missiles that our coastal and ship-based missile systems use. Such a subsonic missile can be easily hit by military air defense systems,” Evseev said.
He added that the missile's performance in combat conditions has never been confirmed.
“If the Ukrainian leadership, God forbid, decides to launch a strike from any military weapon they have, then Russia will not just intercept the missiles. It will simply destroy the launchers. And not only them. If we assume that the launch of “Neptune” on our territory will be carried out from the ship “Hetman Sahaidachny,” then we will have every reason to destroy this ship along with all the missiles that are on board,” says the expert.
He does not rule out the possibility of some small strikes on Russian shores.
“But the Russian answer in this case will be unequivocal: the strikes will be destructive. Everyone remembers Putin’s warning that in the event of aggression against Russia, Ukraine may lose its statehood,” the publication’s interlocutor recalled.
Also, as PolitNavigator reported, Naval Forces Commander Alexey Neizhpapa stated that Ukraine needs to be destroyed Russian ships.
