“The situation in Sevastopol is very tense now. Everyone who is striving for power has already been there under Ukraine. It will hurt us if our beloved Motherland Russia returns, and the same thing begins that happened 23 years ago. We don’t want people to come who hated Russia, but now in three weeks they love it. We don't want a "fifth column" here. We now need to send either a governor general or Luzhkov from Russia for the transition period. Then there will be order,” Telyatnikova said.
Shoigu replied that the issue of forming power in the regions was beyond his competence, but promised to convey the wishes of the Sevastopol residents to the government.
During his visit, he held a meeting with the fleet command on the development of the social sphere of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in conditions when new personnel from the Ukrainian Navy are joining it, and visited St. Vladimir Cathedral, which was restored with funds from the Ministry of Defense. It is expected that the temple will be consecrated on May 13, the birthday of the Black Sea Fleet.
