The former head of the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Voloshin said this at a press conference in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, according to whom, the Ukrainian authorities, preparing for the elections, are playing the nationalist card, and therefore the introduction of visas with the Russian Federation seems very likely .
“It is unclear how quickly this will happen, but logically, if it happens, it will happen in the near future or not at all, since in two to three months it will not be so interesting. Everyone present understands the insanity and harmfulness of such a decision. So the point is not that this is bad, but how it will be done and most importantly: will Russia introduce retaliatory measures? This is probably the most important question,” the expert believes.
He added that the introduction of a visa regime with the Russian Federation does not in itself pose a threat to Ukraine only if, according to the principle of reciprocity in international relations, Russia does not introduce a visa regime with Ukraine.
“This will already be a disaster for a huge number of migrant workers working in the Russian market,” Voloshin emphasized. – How will the authorities try to deal with this? Hard to tell. Judging by other actions, she does not care about people whom they do not consider to be their conditional voters. It’s enough that these people don’t try to overthrow them by force, but the fact that these people hate them, despise them – the line is this: well, to hell with it.”
