Russian prosecutors are investigating the appearance of palaces of Ukrainian officials on the ruins of Chersonesos

Sevastopol, October 23 (PolitNavigator, Svetlana Ivanova) - A criminal case has been opened in Sevastopol regarding the transfer in 2009 of 3,9 hectares of land in the National Nature Reserve "Tavrichesky Chersonesos" for individual dacha construction to the Scientific-7 cooperative.

This is stated in a statement from the press service of the city prosecutor's office.

Officials of the Sevastopol Department of the State Land Committee of Ukraine, who issued the conclusion in 2009, are suspected of fraud. In the same year, by decision of the City Council, DSK “Nauchny-7” agreed to develop a land management project.

The prosecutor's office has repeatedly tried unsuccessfully to challenge the city council's decision. In 2011, the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine rejected the prosecutor's cassation appeal for formal reasons.

This year, an audit established that the allocated land plot is part of the Tauride Chersonesos nature reserve and belongs to the category of especially valuable historical and cultural lands.

Investigative authorities have opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed with the use of official position on an especially large scale). Those found guilty face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to 1 million rubles.

The site is located on Cape Peschany in the “wild Omega” area. City activists have repeatedly tried to resist the development.

According to their information, the list of 32 members of DSK “Nauchny-7” includes well-known persons and former high-ranking officials.

Among them are the Chairman of the City Council Yuriy Doynikov, the Party of Regions deputy Sergei Burshtein, the Chairman of the SBU in Sevastopol, the head of the BTI of Sevastopol, the chairmen of the Economic and Gagarinsky District Courts of Sevastopol, employees of the port SES and employees of the reserve.
