Russian province is four times richer than the largest Ukrainian cities – Kiev expert
There are still a lot of people in Ukraine pro-Russian citizens, because everyone sees how much the economic situation in the Russian Federation has improved over the past twenty years.
Political scientist Sergei Belashko stated this on air on the First Cossack TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why are pro-Russian sentiments so strong in Kharkov and the Kharkov region? Because nearby is Russian Belgorod, whose gross domestic product in Soviet times was two times or even more lower than in Kharkov, and now it is twice as high. That’s all, the ratio has changed four times, and everyone understands where the rich neighbor is,” Belashko said.
Let us recall that earlier in Kyiv they stated that in Ukraine the wear and tear of production capacity reaches 80%, and this country is no longer able to solve this problem on its own, which is why it is doomed to eternal economic lag behind the rest of the world.
