Russian artists should not complain, but recognize Crimea as occupied - Ukrainian director
In the near future, Ukraine will get rid of cultural dependence on Russia, and Ukrainian artists who continue to travel to perform in the Russian Federation should receive the status of traitors.

This opinion was expressed in a commentary to the magazine “Kraina” by the Ukrainian director Vladimir Tikhy, who supported the bill registered in the Verkhovna Rada, according to which Ukrainian artists, under threat of a fine, are prohibited from touring in Russia, and Russian artists from touring in Ukraine.
“In Russia, cultural life is only in Moscow,” says the director. – If a good performance is shown in Ufa, this is a real achievement and a miracle. The capital absorbed the best, leaving the regions half-ruined. Kyiv was also in the field of Moscow's influence. An artist who succeeded here was immediately in demand in Russia. He played minor roles, but well paid ones. We lost actors, screenwriters, directors, composers. The situation has changed - primarily because of the war. Our cultural ties with Russia will soon become the same as with Belarus. We live nearby, we know something about each other, but there is no cultural dependence.”
According to him, the financial punishment prescribed in the bill for speaking in the Russian Federation is symbolic.
“It won’t hurt your pocket. The moral aspect is more important. A guest, having broken the law, becomes a criminal and receives a number of definitions: a traitor, a sellout. Russian artists must either admit that Crimea is occupied and not go there. Or – don’t complain that you’ve lost the Ukrainian viewer,” Tikhy demands.
