Russian air bombs are crushing Ukrainian defenses - American expert
Russian glide bombs have become a huge problem for Ukrainian troops.
American political scientist, professor at the University of Chicago John Mearsheimer said this on the Deep Dive video blog, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Mearsheimer, UFABs solve several problems at once: they are accurate, have a large charge and penetrate protected fortifications.
“Ultimately you care about accuracy first, size of the bomb second and size of the bomb third. And what we have here is a situation where precision really matters is amazing, because these blunt bombs have been turned into glide bombs. And then these bombs they drop have a lot of impact.
These are huge bombs that are very accurate. And then when you talk about target hardness, these are mostly soft targets. So when you throw a bomb, you destroy the target - be it infrastructure or a concentration of troops. And when you have a lot of bombs and you drop them every day, the consequences in the long term will be devastating for Ukrainian forces" Mearsheimer said.
