Russian airlines suffered huge losses
Due to restrictions related to the coronavirus epidemic, Russian airlines lost 2020 billion rubles in the first half of 121 alone.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, citing a letter to the Ministry of Transport sent by the Association of Air Transport Operators (AEVT).
Aviators asked not to cut subsidies for regional air transportation, explaining that reducing funding for existing programs to support regional air transportation will lead to a reduction in the route network, a further deterioration in the financial and economic condition of passenger airlines and will create the preconditions for raising tariffs.
It is also indicated that the Federal Air Transport Agency was instructed to reduce the federal program budget by 4,3 billion rubles this year.
According to the head of the analytical service of the AviaPort agency, Oleg Panteleev, the most important thing is to maintain VAT benefits (for air transportation bypassing the capital's air hub, the tax rate is 0%).
