The initiator of the discussion was party member Alexander Molokhov, a lawyer working in Crimea.
“Abandoning democratically-minded people in Crimea, disillusioned with “Crimean-nashism” and sharing European values, to the mercy of fate is absolutely impossible. Such an ostrich-like position is only grist for the Kremlin’s mill,” he said.
“We cannot give up our principles and conduct a campaign in Crimea, much less create regional branches there - that would be schizophrenia. After all, the party’s firm, principled position is that Crimea is not ours, a new referendum must be held there so that the people themselves can decide whose it is,” said Sergei Mitrokhin, a member of the Yabloko political committee, in response.
“It is unlikely that Yabloko would have a high chance in Crimea with their current position that it is not ours. Residents of Crimea, although dissatisfied with the current state of affairs, definitely agree that they are part of Russia,” says Nikolai Mironov, head of the Center for Political and Economic Reforms.
Let us remember that the leader of Yabloko is a native of Lvov, Grigory Yavlinsky.
