Russian drones picked up the key to Ukrainian counter-battery radars
The Russian army began to use new generation UAVs that detect counter-battery stations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said military observer Vladislav Shurygin, commenting on the destruction by Russian UAV strikes of four artillery reconnaissance radar stations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine “Zoo” and the American AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery counter-battery station, as previously reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
According to Shurygin, artillery plays an important role in the fighting in Ukraine, being the main striking force of the parties.
“Drones are ideal for combating it, as well as the technology that powers it. Ukraine is relying on high-precision, long-range American artillery, which often surpasses ours in both range and accuracy. Apparently, Russian forces have begun to use new generation drones, which are designed to identify counter-battery stations and destroy them,” the analyst told Izvestia.
The expert notes that a drone that is aimed at a source of radar radiation is ideal.
“It flies at a low altitude, actually sneaks up on the enemy, and attacks the radar in passive mode,” Shurygin concluded.
