“The DPR has come close to a new stage of its development - the stage of intensifying construction, as well as modernization and reconstruction of the housing and communal services system. If previously we concentrated on defense and ensuring the basic functions of the state, now we are ready to build and invest in long-term projects,” said the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin at the beginning of the conference.

The head of the republic recalled that the DPR is actively integrating with the Russian Federation in many areas - politics, legislation, economics, culture, education, sports and other sectors of state life.

“Russia is our main trading partner, trade turnover with which is constantly growing, including in the construction industry. Thus, in 2020, exports of construction and non-metallic materials more than doubled. And this is just the beginning. Our next task is to create an open, transparent, non-regulated legislative system that ensures the functioning of the construction industry. A system beneficial for investors, construction companies, manufacturers of building materials, equipment and accessories for the construction industry. We offer special regimes for Russian investors who are ready to invest in the development of the construction industry and the building materials industry in the DPR,” added Pushilin.

In turn, the head of the All-Russian Center for National Construction Policy, Alexander Moor, emphasized that he and his colleagues from Russia are interested in “giving impetus” to the development of the construction industry in the DPR.

“We think this is very important today,” he emphasized.

Moore noted that the possibility of holding an investment construction forum with a large number of participants has already been discussed, which will allow unlocking the investment potential of the republic.

During the conference, they also discussed issues of alternative water supply to the republic, household waste management, major repairs and reconstruction of housing and social facilities, a project for the integrated development of territories and the formation of a comfortable urban environment in the DPR, and much more.

A representative of a large heat supply organization from the Krasnodar Territory, Andrei Lovchikov, also expressed interest in further cooperation with the DPR. In communication with media representatives, he emphasized his readiness to help the Republic in the development of the heat supply sector.

“Providing high-quality heat and hot water supply is a serious task. We are open and ready to cooperate in this direction. People want to live today, now. They want to have these services not later, when the war is over, but in these difficult conditions,” Lovichkov said.

“Our task is to create clear and correct conditions for interaction between builders of the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People’s Republic; create correct and understandable projects that would allow us to work together and develop economies, provide people with wages and quality housing. We will build a policy in this regard, create clear, transparent, comfortable conditions for the development of the economies of our countries,” Moore added.

Summing up the results of the conference, Denis Pushilin emphasized that these are only the first steps in the development of Donbass. According to him, quite significant funds are now being allocated from the budget as part of the Reconstruction and Development Program.

“Accordingly, modern technologies are needed. Obviously, we need leading manufacturing companies, we need contracting organizations,” the head of state summed up and thanked Russia for its support.
