Some Russian officials in Sevastopol are nostalgic for the times of the Ukrainian status of Crimea and secretly perform the Ukrainian anthem at closed events.
Senator from Sevastopol Andrei Sobolev spoke about this in an interview with PolitNavigator.

“I have facts that when these gentlemen celebrate anniversaries, they perform the Ukrainian anthem and sing Ukrainian songs with great hope at their private parties. These are officials,” he said.
According to Sobolev, among the former Ukrainian officials who retained their status in Russian Sevastopol, “many regret it, because in that state they had much more preferences and opportunities for some kind of schemes and benefits.”
