“We all know very well that under this “extremist” or “Russian” article, every year the number of those brought to justice for actions to incite enmity and hatred for unknown reasons, based on belonging to any nationality, race or group, increases. This side is legally extremely vague, the objective side is assessed very subjectively - what these actions are, it is difficult to determine the degree of guilt and consequences. Last year, more than 500 people were sentenced under this article, and not a single terrorist was among them. These are individuals who made some kind of statement or repost on social networks. Among them, of course, there are many young people with radical views, but we, the LDPR faction, are convinced that this should not ruin the life of a young man,” he said, proposing on behalf of the LDPR to delete Art. 282 from the Criminal Code.
However, the amendment proposed by Alexey Didenko was rejected by the State Duma.
