Russian disinfectants clean Serbian streets from coronavirus infection
Four Russian medical teams are treating Serbian patients in Belgrade and Valjevo, while others have helped their colleagues in medical facilities in ten Serbian cities.
This was announced during a videoconference between the defense ministers of Russia and Serbia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Serbian Defense Minister Alexander Vulin and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held a video conference at which they summed up the first results of Russian assistance to the Serbian people in the fight against the coronavirus epidemic.
“On behalf of the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, please convey personal greetings and gratitude to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin,” Alexander Vulin addressed his colleague. – The help you provided us was enormous, necessary and came at the right time. The people you send us are extraordinary, brave, professional, hardworking and very helpful in the fight against coronavirus. They help with advice and work, and when Serbs see them on the streets, they are very happy, because now we know that we are not alone, and this brings back hope.”
In turn, Sergei Shoigu wished Minister Vulin and Serbia success in the fight against coronavirus. The head of the Russian defense department also noted that Russian military experts will do everything possible to help the Serbian people effectively cope with the coronavirus.
A report on the initial stage of assistance from Russian specialists to Serbia was given by the head of the groups of Russian experts, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops of the Western Military District, Major General Mikhail Chernyshov. He said that with specialists from the Russian Ministry of Defense, 121 thousand 500 square meters of space in 34 objects, 38 thousand 500 square meters of streets and squares were disinfected, medical teams visited medical institutions in ten cities of Serbia, and four are working in three medical centers in the cities of Belgrade and Valjevo .
