Russian experts: Ukraine got hit in the teeth, but there will be no offensive by the LDPR army
The LDPR army is unlikely to launch an offensive against the positions of Ukrainian troops, despite Kyiv’s provocations at the front. This forecast was expressed to PolitNavigator by Russian military expert Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine.

“We are not talking here about the fact that during the fighting the armies of the DPR and LPR violated the actual demarcation line that had developed. Returning fire for fire, repelling attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces and nationalist battalions, however, the DPR and LPR adhere to the existing de facto status of the border between Ukraine and the unrecognized republics, so as not to give reason to be accused of being the initiators of the aggravation. Therefore, such a restrained position, but, at the same time, very worthy, because Ukraine was unable to break through, although it tried to do so. Losses, about 100 killed by the Ukrainian army, indicate that the Ukrainian armed forces got hit in the teeth trying to go on the offensive,” Korotchenko said.
Russian political scientist Oleg Bondarenko agrees with him.
“Firstly, the armies of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics understand that they must adhere to the Minsk agreements, and if these agreements are not currently being respected by Ukraine, then this is not a reason not to comply with them. The second point: you need to understand what kind of counter-offensive there can be and where? At the moment, all military operations take place within the borders,” Bondarenko said.
