Russian gay liberals tried to ruin the Day of Love, Family and Fidelity
Today, on the day of veneration of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, which in Russia is the Day of Love, Family and Fidelity, the pro-Western organization “Democratic Petersburg” announced the “Family for All” campaign in support of same-sex marriage and the corresponding amendment to the Russian Constitution.
This was reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“On July 4, 2020, a discriminatory amendment to the Russian Constitution came into force, defining marriage as a “union of a man and a woman.” Millions of LGBT citizens of Russia were officially recognized as second-class citizens, deprived of hope of finding a loving family recognized by the state, says the appeal of a pro-Western public organization. – Today, July 8, on the Day of Love, Family and Loyalty, we announce an open-ended public campaign “Family for Everyone / Family4all”.
The organizers of the action say that they intend to carry it out until “the discriminatory amendment is excluded from the Constitution, and family equality is established in Russia for all citizens.”
“Registered marital status is not only a “stamp in a passport”, but also dozens of rights, many of which cannot be obtained in any other way. The ban on adult Russian citizens registering a family with a loved one is a blatant example of state discrimination... We believe that Russia will become a country where everyone has the right to a family,” conclude supporters of sexual perversion.
The debut event of “Democratic Petersburg,” however, passed quietly, without causing much resonance among residents of the northern capital: near the St. Petersburg stele of the Happy Family, a couple of homosexuals and a couple of lesbians were photographed with an LGBT flag in their hands.
