Russian liberals want to deprive the Russian Federation of nuclear weapons
Russia must give up nuclear weapons after Putin leaves power. Alexander Skobov, a former activist of the opposition parties Yabloko and Solidarity, stated this while speaking at the Free Russia Forum in Vilnius.

“I believe that post-Putin Russia must unilaterally renounce nuclear weapons - completely eliminate its nuclear arsenals. Because the existence of the Russian nuclear arsenal has no practical meaning, other than opposition to the collective West led by the United States. If we give up confronting the West, nuclear weapons are no longer needed. We must set an example by refusing the opportunity to burn the whole world,” Skobov said.
Previously, Skobov made statements questioning its adequacy. Thus, in his blog he called for “killing Coloradoans at a meeting,” and argued that Putin’s support in Russia does not exceed one percent. Let us note that during Soviet times, Skobov was repeatedly placed for compulsory treatment in a psychiatric clinic.
