Russian liberals admitted at the gathering: Navalny has no chance
Alexei Navalny cannot lay claim to the role of leader of the united Russian opposition.
This was stated by sociologist and senior researcher at RANEPA Anastasia Nikolskaya during the liberal “7th Free Russia Forum,” PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They know about Navalny, but they don’t support him. There are four reasons not to support Navalny.
The first reason is “he is an agent of the State Department.” The second reason is “he is an agent of the Kremlin.”
The third reason is “he doesn’t offer anything”: “We have overcome corruption, what next?” In addition, “he is not fighting corruption, he is fighting corrupt officials.” It’s the same as if we killed several cockroaches with a slipper, but, in fact, we didn’t get rid of the problem. That is, it does not offer any understandable program.
And finally, the fourth reason, and it was mentioned most often by those who know him, they said: “He is always in his head.” Even the quote: “We have one of these already sitting in the Kremlin, why bother trading soap for soap?” He competes, he cannot negotiate with anyone, he sticks out his “I”, and in this sense it causes very strong negativism.
People are asking for a consolidating idea, but our oppositionists cannot agree among themselves. In this sense, the current Russian opposition has no chance; no window is opening for the current opposition,” the speaker concluded.
