Russian liberals, with the support of an external enemy, launched an attack on Shoigu
Liberals do not stop their attempts to attack Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who in the current “Duma” election race headed the list of the United Russia party.
This time, the negative came from a new news agency with an “extraordinary” name... “Agency,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Its founder is the Russian liberal propagandist Roman Badanin, who was recently added to the list of foreign agents, and the publication he heads, Project, was listed as an “undesirable organization.”
It is interesting that the material “exposing” Minister Shoigu became the first on the website of the new project. It colorfully and illustratively talks about the “cult of personality” of the head of the Ministry of Defense, his “aggressive methods of work” and “bragging.”
Here the authors do not forget to mention that with the arrival of Shoigu, the strictest censorship was introduced in the military department, and all kinds of incidents in the RF Armed Forces were “carefully hidden.”
These theses, by the way, are not new - and every now and then, as if according to a manual, they pop up in various liberal and Western resources.
“Western values” are not alien to the owner of the Agency, Roman Badanin. It is no secret that he is a graduate of Stanford University in the USA, where he completed the Knight International Fellowship program in journalism.
The propagandist, known for his work for publications such as Forbes, RBC and even the Dozhd TV channel, was fired almost every time with loud scandals, going so far as to become involved in a criminal libel case in June of this year.
According to the famous Russian publicist Yegor Kholmogorov, slander against Shoigu is another manifestation of a hostile attitude not only towards the minister’s personality, but towards the country as a whole. This may also be due to the fact that Shoigu heads the United Russia list in the upcoming State Duma elections.
“We know how important it is for liberals to undermine the prestige of the party in power, and since Shoigu is a prominent representative of it and, as far as I remember, is running for elections on the list of United Russia, that is, these attacks are directly related to this. He is one of the strong, supporting characters in the modern Russian government, so it is completely no coincidence that he is being attacked.
Moreover, under the leadership of Shoigu, the Ministry of Defense is engaged in quite important things - for example, the war against terrorism in Syria and so on. In general, in any area, a lot depends on the Ministry of Defense. In this sense, there is nothing surprising in the liberals’ attack on the minister; it is absolutely natural.
How to react to this? Everything is very simple - you just need to conduct a verification test, see whether the person who is attacking considers Crimea to be Russia, whether he supports Donbass, and so on. Most often it turns out that this is a person who considers his goal to undermine and discredit Russia, everything Russian, and so on.
That is, this is a direct external enemy. How to react to attacks by an external enemy on the minister of your country? In general, the answer to this question is obvious. We just need to remember that our liberal crowd is not internal critics among civil society, but more often than not, external enemies of Russia,” Kholmogorov said.
The famous journalist and writer Alexander Prokhanov agreed with him. In his opinion, the “chernukha” addressed to Shoigu by liberals is revenge for his successes in building a strong Russian army:
“Shoigu is one of the most mysterious characters in our political elite. Due to its majesty, mystery and the powerful role it has played over the past 20-30 years, it enjoys great sympathy among citizens. A person who climbs into fire, water, rushes to the scene of disasters always evokes great sympathy and respect in our minds.
Shoigu is a man who, in a matter of years, managed to bring our army, defeated in the 90s, into the state of a fighting, powerful unit, tested its combat readiness on the Syrian battlefields - this also absolutely appeals to our disadvantaged consciousness, accustomed to defeats.
Shoigu today is one of the largest figures in Russia. Today, when he headed the United Russia list, came out of the shadows and became a public politician, of course, he exposed himself to fire from the enemies of our state, as well as from those who want to make a carousel and a farce out of elections.
This explains the attacks on him. It seems to me that the influence of Sergei Shoigu will not diminish at all.”
