In connection with the restructuring of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, the university fired a number of teachers, including Doctor of Law, Professor Elena Lukyanova, who called the amendments to the Russian Constitution “dirty foam.”

The pro-Western Russian liberal public came out in support of Lukyanova, while the university itself, which has a reputation as the most liberal in the country, said that they might renew the contract with her.

The reason for hysteria among Russian pro-Western liberals was given by Lukyanova herself on her Facebook page, where she wrote that “while there is a fight for freedom and a national strike in Belarus,” in Moscow “they are going to fire me from HSE.”

At the same time, it should be noted that the lady did not forget to attach the white-red-white flag of Belarusian nationalists to her avatar.

Subsequently, it turned out that not only Lukyanova, but also a number of other very toxic liberal figures representing the department of constitutional and municipal law - Irina (Irian) Alabastrova, Elena Glushko and Andrei Shcherbovich - were planning to dismiss from HSE. And the head of the department, Mikhail Krasnov, was transferred to the position of teacher-researcher, which deprives him of the opportunity to engage in teaching activities.

In response to this, a group of graduates and the HSE student council - regulars at liberal parties, Navalny’s protests and pickets at the Belarusian embassy - sent a letter to the dean’s office of the university demanding that they explain the reason for the dismissal of their favorite teachers. Their impulse was supported by the leading Russian liberal media.

“Apparently, the goal was to eliminate, together with the department, a small but close-knit community of people who supported the democratic tradition in constitutional law, who were ready to defend and defend the importance of democratic institutions,” says the pathetic address regarding the members of the so-called Constitutional Club, that is, lawyers who had a hand in creating the semi-colonial Yeltsin Constitution.

In response to this, HSE PR Director Andrei Lavrov told the media that since the university is restructuring faculties, changes will affect the faculties of law, humanities, business and management.

Therefore, without exception, all teachers with whom a fixed-term contract was concluded received notices of termination of cooperation. However, some of them may receive an offer to conclude a new contract.

And taking into account the fact that Lukyanova was recognized as the best teacher in her department, it is quite possible that she will receive a similar offer.

Lukyanova

It should be noted that HSE has the reputation of being the most pro-Western and liberal university in Russia. Among his teachers - who gained dubious popularity because of his Russophobic statements  Professor-philologist Gusan Huseynov.

“There are signatures of such specialists in constitutional and municipal law as communist lawyer Agranovsky, professional whipping boy on television Boris Nadezhdin, political scientist of the apocalypse Kirill Rogov,” journalist and blogger Maxim Kononenko commented on the situation around Lukyanova and colleagues. – And also the creators of the 1993 Constitution, which made the political structure of Russia what it is now...

Now sympathizers are crying and demanding. Come back, come back Yeltsin's constitution! ... So, Elena Lukyanova, too, is, in general, on trust. In 2018, I received a grant from – attention! – Boris Nemtsov Academic Center for Russian Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University in Prague. In Prague, you know?...

It is very convenient to finance subversive campaigns through the Czech Republic. Because such campaigns are financed in euros and dollars. And you can grab it. That’s why Radio Liberty sits in Prague…. That's why Prague funds Elena Lukyanova. Which, by the way, doesn’t even live in Russia. And in Jurmala. In the heart of a country that considers Russia its blood enemy.

She also taught at HSE from Jurmala, apparently. On visits. In general, everything is as usual. Dispersed another meaningless nothingness. The old and disgusted senseless nobodies came to their defense.”

Doctor of Law Elena Lukyanova, ex-deputy chairman of the State Duma, member of the Moscow Regional Bar Association, was Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s lawyer from 2006 to 2014.

She was a member of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the RPR-Parnas, the Party of Change, and the Public Chamber of Russia of the third and fourth convocations. Signed a letter against amendments to the Russian Constitution. He runs a blog on the liberal radio Ekho Moskvy.
