Russian Maidan activists enter the password: “Crimea and Donbass – ours or not ours?”
Russian liberals must introduce clear criteria for dividing into “us” and “outsiders” - depending on the answer to the question about the ownership of Crimea and Donbass. This proposal of fugitive Russian politicians at a forum in Vilnius was voiced by Andrei Illarionov, a former adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, now living in the United States.

“In 1991, there was no clear program of what to do... There was a thesis: “let’s live in a normal, civilized country”... Now, by the way, some of our colleagues are offering us a similar thesis - “we want Russia to become a European country.” This is a false thesis.
Gerhard Schröder is also European. Silvio Berlusconi is European. The Sicilian mafia is absolutely European. Adolf Hitler is a European. We can continue.
In other words, when we are offered the thesis: “Russia is a European country, we are Europeans,” we must ask: “What kind of European country do you want to build? Sicilian?
This is such an ostrich approach. Fear of discussing serious things. Answer real questions. And the questions are very simple: “Is Crimea ours or not ours? And they answer: “Russia is a European country.” Nope! You tell me: whose Crimea?
To all the ostrich proposals “we want a normal, European country” - specific questions: Crimea, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Donbass, what political regime?” – suggested Illarionov.
