Chairman of the Board of the National Union of Milk Producers Andrei Danilenko stated this today at a press conference in Moscow,
“In terms of milk production costs, Russia is more competitive than the United States, South America, the European Union, Africa and the Middle East. We can be competitive on price. The only ones we can't compete with are New Zealand. But it has a growth potential of 10%. We can grow 4 times,” Danilenko said.
According to him, over two years Russia has reduced imports of dairy products by 28%. Moreover, 80% of imports come from Belarus. According to large retail chains, today 95,9% of store shelves are made up of domestic dairy products.
