Russian musicians are afraid to perform in Donbass so as not to lose royalties
Many Russian musicians are afraid to perform in Donbass, so as not to lose the opportunity to perform in Europe and receive large fees. This point of view was expressed at a press conference in Donetsk by Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, rock musician Alexander Sklyar.

“Many musicians think: from time to time I have concerts in Europe, but what if as a result of a trip to Donbass, they will no longer be needed? Many play “reserves” - closed concerts for which they pay well. What if you are no longer invited to these events, what if some oligarch doesn’t like your pronounced position on Donbass? This is a very powerful argument for many, which is why they are cautious.
In a personal conversation they say: “yes, of course I’m for it,” but as soon as it comes down to it, there are a lot of reasons not to go. Reasons can always be found.
In general, whoever wants it just takes it and comes, and whoever doesn’t want it looks for reasons. But such trips are important and necessary - a drop wears away a stone. In general, I think that if you are Orthodox, Russian, it is simply your sacred duty to come here at least once. Because the very people for whom you go on stage live here. As long as we live, we will set this example. And let those who don’t understand this feel ashamed,” Sklyar said.
