“The appeal about the humanitarian corridor took place on Monday night - border guards opened the humanitarian corridor and let 438 Ukrainian army servicemen through,” said Vasily Malaev, a representative of the FSB Border Department for the Rostov Region.
In the near future they will be transported to the Matveev Kurgan checkpoint for transfer to the Ukrainian side.
Malaev clarified that among those who asked for a humanitarian corridor were more than 160 Ukrainian border guards.
As Navigator reported, the ATO headquarters confirmed information about personnel of the 72nd separate motorized brigade crossing the border with the Russian Federation in the Rostov region. However, they emphasized that this happened as a result of heavy and prolonged shelling from pro-Russian rebels and Russia. Also, the ATO headquarters did not specify the number of military personnel who crossed the border with Russia.
