Russian missiles destroyed high-ranking Ukrainian special communications officers
During yesterday's attack on Dnepropetrovsk, several employees of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine were eliminated.
The service reported this on its blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Among those killed were:
acting Dnepropetrovsk regional special communications center of the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine Vladimir Kuchma;
Specialist of the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine for the Lugansk region, Lieutenant Sergei Mironenko;
Head of the motor transport department of the Dnepropetrovsk regional special communications center of the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine Alexander Lunev.
In addition, yesterday in Kyiv, the head of the department of the Cyber Police Department, Colonel Yuriy Zaskok, was liquidated.
“He died yesterday when he came under fire on Shevchenko Boulevard. Today, cyberspace has become one of the fronts of this war. The cyber police, together with the State Special Communications Service and other cybersecurity entities of Ukraine, are holding the defense on this front,” the State Special Communications and Communications Service added.
Military correspondent Evgeniy Poddubny added details.
“I’ll add that control over the Spetsvyaz of the Ukrainian armed forces passed to cybersecurity experts of the US Department of Defense last year. Official Kyiv then considered that the transfer of special communications under the control of the Pentagon would make it possible to rebuild the cybersecurity system to protect critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine,” notes Poddubny.
