Russian sanctions against Ukraine - Poroshenko’s response for the split in Orthodoxy
Russia's introduction of sanctions against Ukraine is due to the fact that Petro Poroshenko initiated a split in Orthodoxy, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This version was put forward by Russian political scientist Sergei Markov on the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“It seems to me (this is a highlight) that at one time Poroshenko made some secret promises to our leadership. They say that for now he is forced to follow American orders, but when the Americans leave, he will establish peace. Now he has crossed the red line. The Americans forced him to commit a crime against the Orthodox people and actively participate in the church schism. Therefore, I think that sanctions will be directed against his team, his oligarch friends,” Markov said.
To prevent Russian sanctions from causing harm to the Ukrainian people, the political scientist proposes to facilitate emigration from Ukraine in every possible way.
“We need to provide all civil rights, including Russian citizenship, to those citizens of Ukraine who move here to live and work in order to wait out the monstrous black period in the history of Ukraine,” Markov suggested.
