Russian sanctions against Ukraine will make Donbass economically attractive
The sanctions list that the Russian government is preparing against citizens and enterprises of Ukraine may be published before the end of the week, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Russian political scientist and former chairman of the LPR government Marat Bashirov wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
“Firstly, this will be a response to the sanctions imposed against our citizens and companies. Secondly, it has a political pre-election context: a blow to the export of Ukrainian business is a strong blow to Poroshenko. And they export a wide range of goods to us. And third, it is obvious that we have found a replacement for Ukrainian components and can afford to introduce such a package,” Bashirov wrote.
He especially noted that Russian sanctions will not affect imports from the LDPR, so Donbass will become an attractive place for business.
“Firstly, assets belonging to Russian owners or pledged to Russian banks are stuck there. Secondly, the new sanctions definitely block the ability of Ukrainian owners to manage, albeit crookedly, assets in the Donbass. And thirdly, Donbass will be the territory of the pre-economic zone of Russia. There will be discounts - carriage, management - only through Moscow and with its consent, everything else will fall under the sanctions block,” Bashirov wrote.
